Curriculum

WCA is an academically rigorous school. We challenge our students in and out of the classroom. Weekly work includes classwork, homework, tests, quizzes, projects and memory verses.

We are excited to partner with Bob Jones University Press to provide extensive and specialized instruction to meet each student’s educational goals. BJU Press has been offering a quality curriculum with high academic rigor, teaching critical thinking with a biblical worldview since 1974.

The 6th - 8th grade classrooms utilize BJU Press Textbooks for the subjects of Bible, Vocabulary, Handwriting (cursive); Reading, Writing & Grammar, Literature, Heritage Studies and Science. Each student is given access to streaming videos taught by an experienced teacher for additional educational support.

Regarding Common Core
Here at Wildwood Christian Academy we have the blessed opportunity to educate our students to the highest standards through the most effective teaching strategies. Regarding the newly released federal education standards, Common Core State Standards (CCSS), we are not obligated to adopt or adhere to them. While there are some positive aspects within the CCSS we have set out to implement a curricula that is both rigorous and biblically foundational that meets and exceeds all federal standards. WCA will educate the whole student by having the students academic, social, and physical skills revolve around their relationship with Jesus Christ. below you will find two links and one attachment regarding the statements our curriculum publishers have made about the Common Core State Standards and teaching.

Uniforms

The goal of the WCA’s Dress code is that students present themselves in a clean and neat manner as a representation of Wildwood Christian Academy. While we recognize the uniqueness of each student and seek to develop individuality, it is also important for each student to understand the concept of appropriate dress for particular situations.

At Home Option

WCA has expanded our partnership with Bob Jones University Press with Christian Classroom Online. With our partnership, we are able to offer Biblical worldview education to more students through our At Home Learning program. The program is offered for 1st through 8th grades.

Registration fees include grade level curriculum bundles with video lessons for each course. This bundle also includes required textbooks, daily lessons taught via video, necessary handouts, manipulatives and lesson plan guides.
